Old Winter Palace Hotel was built in 1886 in its British
Colonial style and became a legend in its own time. 7 suites and 117
rooms, and the very special presidential suite in Victorian period
style. The rooms are facing either the beautiful and large tropical
garden or the Nile.
Already the first New Years Eve parties with its masked costume balls
attracted Crown Princes and Princesses from all of Europe and the Royal
families of the Orient made the hotel their preferred residence. When
Howard Carter found the treasures in the Royal tomb of TutAnchAmon, it
was here at Old Winter Palace that this for the first time was announced
to the world.
Old Winter Palace Hotel and its city was famous for its dry
climate, and this hotel was the top of the peak for places to stay.

In the bar you can find old books to accompany your favourite drink
before a dinner in the small gourmet restaurant 1886. The front terrace
is facing the Nile and you can hardly find a better place to see the red
sun going down behind the Valley of Kings on the other side of the
flood. The beautiful and large garden have a large swimming pool and a
perfect place to make your night stroll if you are not ready for the
more crowded streets.
There is no place on our planet where more ancient monuments and
treasures still are found, as here in Luxor - to live in one of these
historical monuments will certainly add value to your stay.
